One of the new features of MT 4.31 for the BrainDrain is that now you can login to the site to comment with your Yahoo!, AIM, Google, or WordPress.com ID. This means that you don't have to register on BrainDrain itself, you can just use previously setup logins from other sites and that will do all the work of identifying you and logging you in so that you can comment. There were some problems initially with setting up BrainDrain accounts, but that has been fixed and you are more than welcome to register and setup a profile on the blog. I'll be looking into that a little more while I still have some free time and see if I can make that activity a little more beneficial.
Note that you may get a popup saying that BrainDrain wants to harvest some information from you, and is that okay, and blah, blah, blah. Be aware that that information does not get recorded anywhere in my activity logs or anything, and I assure you that I'm not some sort of sleeper guerilla marketer that is just waiting to steal your private info. It's just letting you know that it's taking the stuff you're sending and passing it on to the parent site (e.g. Google, for instance) to verify that you are who you say you are so that you can post and I can feel secure that you're not a spambot.
As always, if you have issues with logging in, let me know via email and I'll do my best to fix the issues straightaway. There also seems to be a login for this newfangled thing called "facebook" that I've been hearing about, but I think it might require me to actually be a member in order to get it setup and I'm not going to do that (as you all full well know). But, in the event that I can get that login method running as well, you'll be the first to know.
